The Show: March 17 2006: The First, come watch The Show!
History on the Internet: For some reason I have been drawn to watching Ze Frank’s year-long experiment of posting a video diary on the internet every day for a year. Starting on March 17, 2006, Franks’ show started as a ‘news summary,’ with criticism of the politicians, celebrities, and random people that comprise the news, and the sources that report it.
Eventually the show evolved into the most intriguing internet community: Frank was able to get people to make songs together, dress up their vacuums, submit movies of themselves demonstrating their ‘power moves,’ and make an earth sandwich. I loved The Show when I first found it. So I am sharing it here with you.
For the next couple of days, I will be posting enough show episodes to get us caught up to date: That is, three shows per day, starting with the first on March 17th, 2006, until we find ourselves on the correct date, here in 2012.
The Show: March 20 2006: Featuring Jessica Simpsons bails on bush, internet censoring, and of course, the first The Show!
The Show: March 21 2006: Featuring old ladies talking about pretzels, the introduction of the .XXX domain, and a cookie for you and me at the end of the day.
